**Daily mass every day

Travel is full of surprises and there are a number of things beyond our control. Due to this fact, the schedule and itinerary are subject to change.

  • Day 1 – Flight to Italy

    • International flight to Milan
  • Day 2 – Shroud Museum & Cathedral

    • Arrive in Milan, take bus to Turin
    • Visit the Shroud Museum
    • Visit Turin’s Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist (where the Shroud is kept, but it won’t be on display in May)
    • Dinner
  • Day 3 – St John Bosco Sites in Turin

    • Visit Valdocco (Turin) – where St John Bosco opened his first school for young boys and where he commissioned the Basilica Maria Ausiliatrice.
    • See the Piccola Casa della Divina Provvidenza or “Cottolengo” (Turin) – where St John Bosco and Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati made trips to visit with the sick and the poor.
    • Dinner
  • Day 4 – Colle Don Bosco

    • Visit the Colle Don Bosco (Becchi) – where St John Bosco’s childhood home is, as well as a Basilica and Museum dedicated to Bosco.
    • Lunch
    • Visit the Church of Saint Andrea (Castelnuovo) – where St John Bosco was baptized and received first communion.
    • Visit the Chapel of Saint Joseph of Cafasso (Castelnuovo) – the birthplace of another local saint who worked extensively with prisoners condemned to death.
  • Day 5 – Bl Pier Giorgio Frassati Sites in Turin

    • Visit the church of la Crocetta (Santa Maria delle Grazie) (Turin) – where Frassati was baptized and his home parish.
    • Visit the Church di Santa Maria di Piazza (Turin) – where Frassati would frequently go for nocturnal Adoration.
    • Visit Palazzo Barolo (Turin) – the residence of a wealthy family who opened their home to the poor. Frassati often volunteered there.
    • Visit the Santuario della Consolata (Turin) – where Frassati would meet other members of the “St. Vincent de Paul society,” a group of Catholic laypeople dedicated to helping those in misery.
    • Visit the gothic church of San Domenico (Turin) – where Frassati dedicated his life to following the Rule of the Lay Fraternities of Saint Dominic.
    • Dinner
  • Day 6 – Sacra di San Michele & Procession

    • Visit the Sacra di San Michele – an abbey dating from at least the 10th century, just outside of Turin.
    • Sunday mass at noon in the abbey
    • Lunch
    • Visit the Basilica Corpus Domini (Turin) – where Frassati made his first confession and site of a Eucharistic miracle from the 15th century.
    • Evening city-wide Procession of Our Lady Help of Christians through the streets of Turin – St John Bosco often asked for her intercession.
  • Day 7 – Bl Pier Giorgio Frassati Sites in Pollone

    • Private bus to Pollone
    • See Villa Frassati (Pollone) – Frassati’s family home.
    • Visit Pier Giorgio’s original tomb (Pollone)
    • Visit the Church of Pollone – Frassati attended mass here when at the family home.
    • (Optional) Hike from Pollone to Oropa – a hike that Frassati would have taken.
    • Dinner
    • Stay the night in Biella
  • Day 8 – Sacred Mount of Oropa

    • Visit the Sacred Mount of Oropa – a UNESCO world heritage site. It consists of a Basilica, church, museum, and a devotional path composed of twelve chapels. Frassati visited it often.
    • Private bus back to Turin
    • Afternoon free
    • Dinner
  • Day 9 – Flight Back Home

    • Bus to Milan
    • Flight to USA
